Home Tour Makeover
Welcome to my home tour-after remodeling. Here you can see how my husband and I renovated our builder grade home. Enjoy scrolling though, and if you want to learn how we did it, click on the links. I hope you find something that inspires you!
Kitchen/Breakfast Nook
Starting with the kitchen makeover I wanted something that no longer screamed builder grade.
So as you remember this is what we started with. You have those beautiful custom crafted oak cabinets, with that glorious white laminate counter tops, with complimentary white appliances, oh and don’t forget but those precious ceramic tile floors. What else could a designer ask for. Well, since you asked…a sledge hammer, more space, new cabinets, and endless supply of money for a kitchen reno. Since none of those but the sledgehammer were an option, I went with paint and a little creativity. Whatcha think?
Looks a little different huh?

And before you ask, yes I changed out my round table with a custom built farm-table by my husband and a built-ins below the bay windows for…yes you guessed it, more storage, that serves as seating on the backside of the table. Functional and beautiful! If you want to see how I transformed my round table check it out here.

Living Room/Entry
For the entryway, there wasn’t much to do. A little paint, new crown/trim, new lighting, and hardwood floors. I wanted to keep it simple, but I did want the space defined, so I added a decorative tile insert in the middle of the entryway of the hardwoods.
The living room had a big transformation. If you remember, my house was a three bedroom, but we needed a fourth room. The old dinning room became the fourth bedroom for our son. This made the living room feel like it was no longer built awkward with a wall that just ended in the middle of the living room.
Now the dinning room is gone, and the wall extends all the way, making the living room ideal!
Dining Room
Growing up in the South, we always had a formal dining room to entertain, and I wasn’t going to have it any other way. This is one of the biggest changes to our home. Our patio became the new dining room.
