Do you want a beautiful cheap way to wow your friends and family this year? Then lets get to decorating. After you have decided on a color scheme stop by your locate craft store. I like to shop at Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby especially when things are on sale.
- Start with finding “fillers”. This is the big stuff ie. Make sure to buy in groups. I found that three, fours, or six works best.
- Hold your filler items in your hand and add your pretties to the center. Don’t forget to have several different color options.
- Place smaller items of your choice in the center of the filler. I used red, silver, greenery, teal blue, and gold.
- You will need zip ties to hold them together.
- Then zip tie your bunched items to the top of your tree
- By now, your questioning your judgement…but just wait your not finished.
- Lets give that tree topper some dimension and depth to make it look fuller.
- In this step, I took twig balls (I don’t know the technical name) and started placing them to the top.
- Add a few sticks and glittered pine cones and there you have it.
After your all completed, accessories until your heart is content.
This project cost me less than $20, yep that’s right. A few shopping tips: Shop in other departments that aren’t seasonal. Look for Christmas sales at hobby lobby and michaels. Take advantage of the companies coupons and store discounts. And if you want to add to your tree topper next year, catch the after holiday season sales when things go from 70%-90% off.
