Home Tour Before Wood Family
With a growing family and a tight budget, it was finally time to settle down in our new town. With my husband re-enlisting for another four years in the Air-Force, base housing was not for us. We set out to find a home that would fit our family for a few years.
Pre-Wood Family Home Tour
We found ourselves looking into buying this home. With three small kids (at that time) the house had great bones, a wonderful neighborhood on a cul-de-sac, and the location was great to the base. It was approximately 1750 sq. ft. with three bedrooms and two baths. While we wanted a home with four bedrooms it was out of the budget, so out of the question. I knew once we walked into this home, that it was meant for our family. The pictures below are what we seen as we toured this home with our realtor. With a little imagination, time, and renovations this house checked all of our boxes of what we were looking for. For the most part, paint would solve our problems until we were ready to renovate. It had tall 10 ft ceilings, a patio that I could later turn into usable square footage, split floor plan, and an actual laundry room. It did however have downfalls. The lot size was small and the backyard was nonexistent. Good thing there were two close parks for the kids to play. The storm shelter took up half my two cars garage, but living in Texas the storm shelter was staying… guess I will park in the drive way. Since the downfalls were not that big of deal, Worthington Court became the new home for our family. This three-bedroom two bath house had no idea what was in store once I got my hands on her. Let’s go down memory lane and take a look at the before.
